Restaurants

Grenada 's famous local dish is 'oil down' - callaloo, coconut milk, grated coconut, vegetables, all cooked together with dumplings, meat/fish and other spices). This is a treat and even if you aren't the adventurous type, you should try it if you get a chance. Another great local dish is Roti; the easiest way to describe this is like a Caribbean version of the Burrito, made from chick pea dough wrapped around curried meat or fish and potato.

Conch meat or 'Lambie' is another local delicacy; often served in broth or soup. French Creole style dishes are typical on local menus.

Grenada offers the freshest seafood; tuna, lobster (seasonal), swordfish, snapper and grouper are usually on the menu which goes well with an open air, informal restaurant to set the mood.

The Aquarium Beach Club & Restaurant:

A five minute walk along the Grenadian beach, the Aquarium Restaurant is especially nice on Sunday for the all day BBQ, where lobster, fresh fish, baby back ribs and steak are all on the menu.

The Beach House Restaurant:

The Beach House Restaurant is only two bays along from the Grenadian resort, but unfortunately it cannot be walked to along the beach, however it is very close along the road. The Beach House is famous for its Tuna, there is none like it on the Island and receives excellent and deserved reviews. Fantastic food in a relaxing and congenial atmosphere. 2 minutes by car from the Grenadian resort.

Waters Edge Restaurant:

This restaurant in St. David’s is a truly beautiful setting. The Bel Air Plantation is perfect for a romantic meal by the waters edge overlooking St. David’s Harbour. Unwind in the pavilion upstairs after supper and stare at the skyline. Approximately 30 minutes from the Grenadian by car.
